High End and High Street Beauty Haul!

Hey everyone, I'm back!
Today I made a sneaky trip to Selfridges and Superdrug and I've been very naughty online recently so I happened to drop a hella' lot of cash on some new purchases that I'm pretty damn excited about!

The Eylure Eyebrow Dye (£7.49 from Superdrug) was a repurchase as I regularly dye my eyebrows to stop them from becoming literally invisible *blonde probs*. This is the only dye I've ever gotten along with, and I love the new packaging!

The Revlon brush (£3.99 from Superdrug)  was to accompany my brand spanking new Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (£15, Cult Beauty) and I am so so excited to try it as I've only read rave reviews so far!

The Naked 2 palette (£37, Selfridges) was my first ever Urban Decay purchase and after trying it for the first time, I can confirm that I am most definitely not disappointed!

The Laura Mercier Silk Créme foundation (£34, Selfridges) has been on my Wishlist for a veery long time, and the lovely lady at the Selfridges counter matched me perfectly, so I am well impressed.

My first ever MAC Lipstick *shock horror* in Creme Cup (£15, Selfridges) was yet again, not a disappointment! I love the colour (I think it may be my perfect nude!) and the cremesheen formula makes it so comfortable to wear, so top marks MAC.

Lastly, the Beauty UK Matte Bronzer in Dark (£4.99, Superdrug) is a surprising purchase, as I was originally looking for the Sleek FaceForm Kit, but Superdrug were out of stock so I went on the hunt for the perfect contouring bronzer, and I think I may have found it! It's a really nice cool toned brown, and it's really easy to contour with as it's not overly pigmented.

So there we go my lovelies! My (not so) sneaky collective haul! More detailed product reviews will be arriving soon so stay tuned.

Bye!

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm

So here I am again!

I picked this up when perusing the aisles of Boots as I really wanted to try one of the coloured balm pencils that have been floating around a lot recently (I know, I know, I'm a little late to the party on this one) and it just sort of found it's way into my basket (as things tend to do).

Long story short, I love it.

But for the slightly more in depth version of events, read on.

I picked mine up in the shade 100 Give Me A Cuddle *awh* and I really like it. It's a gorgeous pale pink and it makes me look healthy rather than washed out.

What I really love about this pencil is that the formula is a little harder than some others which means I have a bit more control of the colour payoff, as although sheer, it can be built up to a pretty bright colour. Also, the shape of the pencil (as shown in the swatches above) is great as I can use the tip to shape my lips and the flat side to fill them in.

I also love the concept of having the balm in a pencil as it means I can chuck it in my handbag without worrying whether it'll break and I can apply it without a mirror on the train without it going all over my face!

I did have a little issue with it at first, as my natural lip colour is quite red so I found that the balm ended up looking a sort of raspberry colour. However, I got around this with a quick dab of foundation on my lips to give a clean base for the colour and then applied the balm, which really helped it to shine.

This has definitely become my go-to everyday lip product as it's so comfortable to wear and a beautiful colour! I'll definitely be buying some more of these!

Would you try this?

Primark Haul!

Hey everyone, today I'm venturing into the scary world of fashion blogging! I took a little trip to Primark today, and I thought I would share my purchases with you all, as Primark has really stepped up their game recently. There's also a lot of unusually bright purchases for someone who has lived life in monochrome for the past six months!

Just a basic pair of grey cotton shorts - perfect for lounging about in or sleeping in when it gets warmer! Also great for when I go on holiday and denim shorts just aren't an option! £3

Cropped grey trackies - again perfect for lounging about or going to the gym in (paha!) and they're really comfy too. The label fell off these but I think they were £5?!

Coca-cola vest top - I will be pairing this with denim shorts or jeans in the months to come as it's so summery and the cut off arms make it really good when it gets hotter. £6

Some really basic denim shorts, a staple for the summertime! Perfect paired with that coca-cola top... £5

Blue and white floral chiffon vest top - so bright but I love it. This is so summery and the light fabric makes it perfect for those hot summer days (hopefully) to come. £4

A lovely little basic pink vest top, I can never buy enough of these! Cheap and cheerful, go with everything and really comfy too. £2.50

Another chiffon vest top, but the faux leather pocket detail gives it a little something extra and it's quite sturdy feeling too.  £4

So happy about this purcase! Gorgeous thin stripes, this will be perfect with a pair of jeans and some sunnies for a laid-back look. £3.50

A massively risky purchase for someone who has avoided the check trend for almost forever, but I love it! Beautiful floaty cut, flattering and simple. £10

Gotta get a pair of sunnies! These ray-ban style ones will go with everything for a tough-girl edge. £1

Yay for reductions! This was £5 down from £8 and is really lovely and thick, which will make it perfect for those cooler evenings and will take me right into winter.

Last but not least, some new jeans. My black ones are feeling slightly unseasonal, so I picked up the exact same style, just in blue. Really comfy and not overly high waisted! £10

So there it all is! Really happy with everything which is rare as Primark is so hit and miss, but there were some gorgeous clothes! All of this comes to £59, which is amazing considering how much I loved everything.

Which are your favourite pieces? See you all next week!

MUA Nail Polish Amaretto Crush

I'm back again! This time I'll be showing you all one of my favourite budget nail polishes of all time. Enter: MUA Polish in the shade Amaretto Crush

There are so many reasons that I love this polish, one of them being the colour. It's so unlike anything else in my collection, a gorgeous muted pinky-coral. (That is a scientific term, I promise) This is such a stunning spring shade and looks beautiful on both really pale English rose skin and really tanned skin.
The formula is really easy to work with, not gloopy or thick but not really thin and watery either, and it applies beautifully to the nails. It's also opaque in two coats and dries pretty quickly so perfect for those like me who hate sitting around for ages waiting for their polish to dry!
Last but not least, this polish has pretty amazing staying power considering the price, lasting a good 3 days on me without a top coat(!) so 10/10 on that!

Overall, this is one of my all-time favourite polishes and one I will definitely be repurchasing once it runs out. Plus, for £1, you can't go wrong!

MUA Lipstick Shade 3 Review

Hey guys! Today I'm here with a review of MUA's lipstick in shade 3. I picked this up about a month ago, and it's possibly one of my new favourite lipsticks.

The packaging is pretty standard highstreet black with silver writing, nothing special but nothing horrible either! It's pretty sturdy and I haven't found that the lid comes off too easily, so I would be happy to just chuck this in my bag to go without worrying about it being knocked around too much.
In the bullet this looks like a dark fuschia, but it actually translates onto the lips as a stunning reddy pink. It's cool toned too so it would suit pretty much anyone, and although bright is easy to pull off!
The texture is gorgeous and buttery, and glides across the lips without accentuating any dry patches (win!). It wears for about 2-3 hours on me which isn't bad for a quite glossy finish highstreet lipstick, and it wears off gracefully to a lovely reddish stain. I also haven't found this one down my chin halfway through the day either, which is pretty impressive for a lipstick in this formula!

Here's what it looks like on (excuse my horrendous rushed application)

All in all, I really can't fault this lipstick. It's a gorgeous colour, lovely texture and impressive colour payoff, and the best thing is, it's only £1! LOVE.

Would you wear this shade?

'Simple' Skincare Regime

Hey everyone, I'm back! This time I have my 'Simple' skin care regime and you guessed it, it's just Simple brand products! (Like what I did with the title there?). At the moment I have combination skin due to the acne medication I'm using so some patches of my face are really oily, but others are really dry and flaky. However, I've developed a trio of products that I think combat my dry skin really well, whilst not turning the rest of my face into an oil slick. (We all know that's not a pretty sight!).
Here's my trio!
All Three

This is comprised of the Moisturising Facial Wash, Purifying Cleansing Lotion and Hydrating Light Moisturiser. All these products are awesome by themselves, but work even better when put together, and are really gentle on my now quite sensitive skin. I'm going to do mini reviews on each product too, so here we go!
Kind To Skin Moisturising Facial Wash

This is my most recent purchase, and I really really like it. It's sort of a serum type consistency, and doesn't look like your typical face wash at all, or foam up like one, which is understandable as it doesn't contain soap. When massaged into wet skin, it goes white, but doesn't foam up at all, which I found quite off putting at first, and it made me question how well it was going to work. However, it really melts off all my makeup and leaves my skin feeling like it's been cleaned deep down without drying out my dry patches further or leaving it feeling tight. Win! This cost me £3 at Lidl.

Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

This product is my most repurchased of the three, and I bought it when I actually had really oily skin, but it worked excellently then, and still does! It's a super light consistency, and sinks into the skin really fast whilst delivering a nice shot of moisture. I have been pretty on-off with it, but I've always come back to it as I've never found anything I like quite as much. This costs £3.79 from Superdrug.

Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion

Again, this product is a little winner. It's so gentle on the skin, and doesn't irritate at all. It really melts away all the last scraps of makeup that may have been missed by my face wash and is seriously good at getting rid of stubborn eye makeup. It also lasts forever-I've had this bottle for about 6 months and I'm nowhere near running out! This one costs just £2.99 from Superdrug.

Overall, I think I've found a lovely little trio of products that do what they say on the tin without costing the world or containing a load of nasties.

Do you use Simple products? What are your favourites?

17 Phwoarr Paint Review

Hey again! I'm back this week with another makeup review, and this time it's 17's Phwoarr Paint Concealer. As you all know, I'm constantly on the lookout for my HG concealer that can battle even my dark circles, and this seemed like a pretty good dupe for Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer.

I picked mine up in the shade Fair, which is a little light for me, however with the amount that I use and the fact that I put a tiny dab of foundation over the top, this really doesn't matter.
I did really struggle with this at the start-so much so that I considered giving up on it and investing in Benefit. However, the coverage was too good to let go and so I developed a little technique that meant I could keep using it without it looking too cakey.
It does have a tendency to crease, however this isn't too bad and I'm willing to put up with it for the coverage it provides, and there isn't any caking, provided you use a small amount.
The packaging is pretty darn sturdy for a highstreet product, and the little mirror makes it perfect for on the go-something I wouldn't be hesitant to do!

Here's a lovely before and after!:

As you can see, the peachy colour really works well to counteract my dark circles, and the coverage is excellent, even using a tiny amount. It also hasn't caked, even on my constantly dry under eye area-yay!

Does it live up to its claims of being heavy duty?
Yes.

Has it made HG status?
No, due to it's difficulty to use and tendency to crease. However, I will be using it all up and it is a fantastic little concealer for the price.

This little gem will set you back the grand total of £5.49. Will you be purchasing?

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cherry Up Review

Hey everyone, I apologise so much for my absence from this blog! I've been really ill, but now I'm back, and today I'm reviewing my first ever Sally Hansen polish, Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure polish in Cherry Up.

As you can see, it's a gorgeous bright pink in the bottle, which is what drew me to it initially, although I do think that the name is misleading as this is certainly not a cherry colour, but that's not really a problem at all!
This actually translates into a much darker fuschia colour on the nails, but it's still absolutely stunning and it's really unlike anything I own already. The formula is lovely, not too thin but not gloopy, just nicely in between, and the wear time is also brilliant, lasting around 4 days on me without a top coat.
All in all, a complete 10/10 for me - I will definitely be buying more Sally Hansen polishes in future.

What do you think?

See you next time!

My Favourite High Street Mascara

Hi everyone, today I'm going to be talking about my favourite mascara, which is.... Max Factor Clump Defy!
If you want to know the reasons why I love this mascara so much, read on!

Pretty Matte Purple Tube

The Wand!

Initially, it was actually the packaging and the name that drew me to this mascara as I was out of my old one and was sick to death of clumpy eyelashes. However, when I got it home and gave it a whirl... It turned out to be amazing! The formula is quite 'wet' which I prefer in a mascara as I always find they don't clump or dry out as easily, and it is a true carbon black (I hate grey-black mascara with a passion!). It was pretty much love at first use, but now it had to stand up to the day-long wear followed by work test (I work in a hot, humid kitchen by the way, so this is a pretty good test!) and it passed with flying colours! My lashes were still jet black, had held the curl, and there was no flaking! I was super impressed. Since then, this is the only mascara I've reached for, and it's not disappointed me! Here's a picture of what it looks like on...

As you can see, the wand separates all the lashes and catches all the little ones that bigger wands tend to miss, whilst lengthening and giving some volume to lashes. This mascara also builds nicely, so it can be taken from a really natural day time look to a night time look with just a couple of extra layers to add extra volume and length.

All in all, I can't fault this mascara in any way. And although it's at the higher end of high street at £10.99, it's so worth it.

See you all next week!

Rimmel 3D Plumping Top Coat Review

Hey everyone! So I was wondering what to review for you all this week, and I decided on this little gem! Why? I haven't done a nail post in a while!
Anyway, here it is:

Bottle

A (very messy) mani I did with it

This is my absolute saviour top coat. It prevents chipping, makes my polish last FOREVER and makes it super super shiny.
Above I have done a really quick mani using this top coat, and it really illustrates the high shine it gives to the nails. (This mani was done with 2True Fast Dry Polish in Shade 10)
The formula is excellent, not too thick or too watery, and it dries really quickly, which everyone loves!
There's not much else to say about this top coat really, apart from that in true Rimmel style, it's also really cheap at just £4.49.

Bye all!

P.s if you want a tutorial on how to do the mani (a neat version, I promise!) then just comment below!

Boots Hand and Nail Cream Review

Hey guys, so sorry this is late! (Again) anyway, today I'm going to be reviewing a product that isn't exactly exciting, but has become one of my holy grail items over the past few months! Enter: Boots Hand and Nail Cream for Very Dry Skin.

Outer Packaging

Tube Top

Cream Out Of The Tube

This cream claims to be non-greasy, easy to absorb and leaves your hands feeling soft, smooth and supple. I'm very pleased to report that all of these are true!
It may just be me, but I find that after massaging this into my hands for around 30 seconds, it's completely absorbed and I can start doing things straight away. The formula is very lightweight, and  gives my hands the burst of moisture they need without feeling like I've even got anything on my skin. It also has no smell whatsoever, which is a bonus for me as I hate chemical-smelling products!
This cost me just £1.32 from Boots and I recommend it highly-it's just as good as it's more expensive counterparts.

See you all next week!

Eylure Lashfix and Individual Lashes Review

Hi everyone! This review is so late and I am so so sorry but I didn't have any internet for a couple of days because of the storms (grr hormonal british weather!). Anyway, today I will be reviewing two recent purchases of mine, the Eylure Lashfix Eyelash Adhesive and the Eylure Individual Lashes.

Lashfix in box.

Lashfix out of box.

Lashes in box.

Lashes out of box.

Firstly, I'll talk about the lashes. I was skeptical about buying these, but as they came recommended and the application can't be any worse than with strip lashes, I decided to give them a go. After looking at millions of videos on Youtube about how to apply them, I decided to give them a go for the first time when I was just running some errands as if they went wrong, I'd have an excuse for looking rubbish! I first curled my lashes and gave them a swipe of mascara, then I proceeded with putting on the lashes. (I used Lashfix glue instead of the one that comes with it as I wanted to take them off that evening so I can't comment on that!) I used one long, two medium and one short to create my look, and although it took a while, they were relatively easy to apply. Here's the finished look:

Open eye.

Closed eye.

As you can see, the Lashfix glue really did dry clear and the lashes blended effortlessly into my lash line which I loved as they looked really natural (I hate the thick bands on strip lashes)

The Lashfix glue I actually picked up on a whim as the Superdrug I went to didn't have my usual Revlon glue in stock. I half expected it to be the same as the glue in the lash boxes (rather underwhelming and hard to work with) but I got a very pleasant surprise! The spatula gives you just the right amount of glue due to the tight top of the bottle, and it dries really quickly. This glue also stays PUT! I wore my lashes on a very windy day and they didn't budge a bit.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Lashfix glue, and although I need more practise with the lashes I do like them more than strips. They're also very cheap products, at £2.75 for the glue and £5.25 for the lashes from Superdrug.

See you all next week!
